Is engineering an only future?

If you want to become a successful engineer then you need to take a proper decision that which field is suitable for you. As you all see that there is a large number of engineering colleges, as well as a large number of engineers, were passed from these colleges. But I always wonder and I think all students have such questions in mind that does country need all these engineers? Are all engineers get their desire job as an engineer? There is a myth in almost all people mind either they are parents or students that if anyone become successful in future then study engineering and you will get success as well as money.
